Case Study: Intranet Development

Addaction offers a full range of counseling and support services to those affected by addiction to drugs and alcohol, either directly or indirectly. Triad were awarded the contract for a technical delivery partner to provide a SharePoint Intranet to improve communication and collaboration across 80 sites across England and Scotland.

The project was the first time that Addaction had followed an Agile delivery method. Triad provided coaching to Addaction staff to alleviate the concerns over the seemingly open-ended approach Agile was promotes and to remove the risk to delivery.

Rather than fixing the cost, and consequently the scope of the delivery, Addaction and Triad worked collaboratively within the confines of the budget that Addaction were able to invest. This allowed Addaction to identify which features would provide the greatest return on investment, whilst giving Triad the opportunity to demonstrate innovative ways to add further benefit based on our long and successful delivery history with varied clients and market sectors.

Client Feedback

Initially there was a definite nervousness and some skepticism about using an Agile approach but Triad’s management of the scope and in particular the associated commercials has ensured that every penny spent has been on the functionality most important to the business. If we had tried to define that functionality at the start of the project we would not have got the same SharePoint solution we have today.
